I'm Matthew Wilenchik, owner of Edge Event Productions and an audio engineer with nearly 15 years of professional experience across recording studios, live touring, and commercial AV installation.

My career began at SAE Institute in Byron Bay, Australia, where I studied audio engineering before relocating to the San Francisco Bay Area. At Studio D Recording, I honed my craft working on sessions with artists like Huey Lewis and the News, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, and tabla virtuoso Zakir Hussain. Those studio years instilled in me a deep appreciation for sonic detail and technical excellence.

In 2010, I expanded into commercial integration at Bananas at Large, designing and installing audio-visual systems for churches, schools, and performance venues throughout Northern California. This work gave me extensive knowledge of distributed systems and large-scale installations—skills that prove invaluable in live event production.

Since 2014, I've focused exclusively on live events, touring and working with production companies on shows for Macklemore, Beck, Cage the Elephant, Cold War Kids, Puscifer, A Perfect Circle, Dom Dolla, and many others. Each tour and festival taught me something new about delivering exceptional sound under pressure.

Five years ago, I moved to Sun Valley with my partner, and we now have a one-year-old son who keeps us busy when I'm not on site. Outside of work, I'm passionate about rock climbing (nearly 30 years and counting), mountain biking, skiing, exploring new restaurants, and finding the perfect espresso.
